“We ask the congregation to authorize $25,500 to engage Mark Davy & Associates for the capital campaign. The capital raised from this campaign is projected but not guaranteed by Mark Davy & Associates to be from $500,000 to $700,000. The proceeds of the capital campaign would be used to fund the proposed building vision pending further approval of the congregation.”

Why should Zion hire Mark Davy & Associates (MDA) to guide the capital campaign?

·        MDA is a professional team that would raise more money than fundraising in house

·        MDA has step by step, proven experience

·        The cost is minimal when compared to the amount raised doing it in house

·        MDA would work with Zion during the capital campaign (3 to 4 months) and then for 2 ½ to 3

         years following the campaign to keep the momentum going and pledges fulfilled

·        MDA’s history is that 95 to 103% of the pledges are fulfilled. 

What will Mark Davy & Associates do? 

 MDA will make recommendations on the campaign goal and approach.  Specifically they will:

·        Outline Campaign Strategy

·        Work with leadership to develop the case for giving

·        Work with campaign volunteers to develop necessary standards of giving

·        Assist in enlisting all campaign volunteers

·        Supervise all assignments

·        Design and execute an orientation program for all volunteers

·        Manage the production of educational materials

·        Create a time-action calendar and keep on schedule

·        Supply efficient campaign mechanics

·        Establish an appropriate system for pledge collection

·        Carry out other duties for a successful campaign as mutually determined by MDA and the leadership of  

         Zion Lutheran Church of Amor.

 What is Zion responsible for? 

·        Reimbursing preauthorized, reasonable expenses, such as printing and postage

·        Provide leadership guidance and campaign volunteers

·        Provide necessary secretarial support

·        Actively work with MDA over the follow-up period.
